Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about CR registration in Bahrain

How long does CR registration take?
Sijili (virtual CR) takes 3-5 business days. W.L.L. registrations take 5-7 business days. More complex structures like B.S.C.(c) or Branch offices may take 7-14 business days depending on requirements.
What documents do I need?
For Bahraini nationals: valid CPR and passport. For foreign nationals: passport, NOC from sponsor, and proof of address. Corporate entities need additional documents like board resolutions and articles of association.
Can foreigners own a company in Bahrain?
Yes. Foreign nationals can own up to 100% of a W.L.L., B.S.C., or Branch office. However, Sijili (virtual CR) is only available to Bahraini nationals.
What happens if my commercial name is rejected?
You can submit up to 3 name choices in order of preference. If all are rejected, we will work with you to find an acceptable alternative at no extra charge.
Do I need to be physically present in Bahrain?
Not necessarily. Most of the process can be handled remotely through our portal. However, some steps like signing the memorandum of association may require a notarized signature or power of attorney.
What are the government fees?
Government fees vary by entity type. Sijili: ~27 BHD/year. W.L.L.: ~200-300 BHD (registration + municipality). These are separate from our service fees and paid directly to the government.
What is a Sijili (virtual CR)?
Sijili is a virtual commercial registration that doesn't require a physical business address. It's ideal for freelancers, consultants, and home-based businesses. Only available to Bahraini nationals.
Can I change my business activities later?
Yes. Business activities can be added, removed, or modified after registration through Sijilat. This requires a separate application and may incur additional government fees.
